Mobile Data Considered a Luxury

instat.gif There’s an interesting press release on recent research by In-Stat. It shows that the mobile industry still has some way to go to convince users…

"The main objection for non-users of mobile data technology in general, and smartphones in particular, is that users are sceptical of the benefits of mobile data and view it as a “luxury.”"

On a more positive note…

"At the same time, they tend to overestimate the actual cost of smartphones."

If people can afford the phones but are wary about the cost of data then I suppose the newly introduced data inclusive tariffs may start to sway consumers.
