According to IDC, due to the financial crisis, phone shipment growth is only 3.2% year on year when last year this figure was 20%.
However, this is the interesting part for mobile developers…
"While the overall mobile phone market registered small growth compared to last year, the market for converged mobile devices (commonly known as smartphones) posted strong gains,"
Why is this? Maybe the time has come when people are starting to appreciate the advantages of higher-end devices. We can all thank Apple for that.
