Symbian Partner Event

symbian.gifOne of Symbian’s PR companies has suggested I might like to mention the forthcoming Symbian Partner Event on December 4 2008 at the Palace Hotel, San Francisco. I don’t usually mention PR originated stuff unless the subject matter especially relevant or different. So what’s particularly interesting about this event?

Notably, this will be the first partner event open to anyone. Previous partner events required you to be a Symbian (usually Platinum) Partner - i.e. those who usually had paid substantial additional licence fees for access to non public APIs, support and marketing opportunities.

As well as attending to learn about the impending Symbian Foundation and how AT&T is working with Symbian, there are opportunities to apply for free exhibition space or participate in the Fast Pitch session. Fast Pitch is an opportunity for companies to get face-to-face with handset manufacturers and network operators and present a 5-minute pitch of their solutions. Previous Fast Pitch had representatives from Telefonica, Hutchinson 3G, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Orange, Nokia, S60, Motorola, UIQ, Sony Ericsson, Samsung and LG.

Hence, the partner event might just help you get your foot in the door. All this is free of charge.
