GSMA OneAPI
Since I mentioned the GSMA’s 3rd Party Access Project last July, the project has been renamed ‘OneAPI’ and has just announced that the OneAPI Reference Implementation is now available.
OneAPI is an initiative to define a commonly supported API to allow network operators to expose useful network information and capabilities to web and mobile application developers.
It’s interesting that instead of going out and trying to mandate an API to network operators, the GSMA has decided to provide endpoints which allow OneAPI calls to be automatically mapped to the existing APIs offered by many of operator programmes. This provides access to real live implementations of the API.
